Vivo NEX price slashed in India by Rs 5,000

Chinese OEMs, more than their bigger global counterparts, have been more courageous in thinking outside the box to solve the age-old problem of notches. Vivo, in particular, has now tried two different solutions. After interesting but largely unrealistic Vivo NEX S and its growing and sinking front camera, the company introduced the more interesting Vivo NEX Dual Display Edition. But while there may be some who want to taste the dual screen goodness, everyone can not be able to afford it. Fortunately, a potential cheaper version is on its way.

The vivo NEX S was introduced in China in the first half of 2018, eventually making its way to more markets in July. One of them was India, where the phone was marketed as vivo NEX and priced at INR47,990, but actually sold for INR44,990 ($650/€560). Its price has been lowered once again with the start of the new year, with a current price tag of INR39,990, which is a $75/€50 cut.

Vivo Nex Dual Display Edition specifications

It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC paired Adreno 630 GPU and further includes 10GB of RAM with 128GB inbuilt storage.

While Vivo Nexus Dual Display supports Dual-SIM connectivity, it runs the Android 9.0 pie with the Fantastic OS 4.5 on top. Is Vivo Nex Worth Buying?

I said this during the Vivo Nex India launch and I'd like to repeat the same. It is one of the most unique and feature-rich phones in the Indian smartphone market. Vivo engineers have done a commendable job in incorporating motorized front-camera behind the screen. When it is trigged for a selfie, it can pop up in less than a second and retract in no time. They have not compromised a bit to affect the design nor the internal hardware. Thanks to innovative design, the phone boasts ultra FullView screen having 19.3:9 aspect ratio and no notch.
Yes, its bottom is a bit rough, but everything else on the front panel is fully functional. It seems that they have moved one step further by adding an in-display biometric sensor to save a good part of the physical location in the front panel. Again, at least there is no brand in the market in India, this feature can boast in its products.
