CES is taking place this week and there are many announcements that have been made. It’s been a particularly important week for Xiaomi as they had previously announced a launch event for their new sub-brand, Redmi. Instead of keeping the Redmi budget devices mixed in with Xiaomi’s Mi devices, they feel it’s best to separate the two so the Mi devices start to become looked at as the premium and high-end products they are. Today, the first smartphone under this secondary brand Redmi Note 7 was revealed, but also revealed that the Redmi Note 7 Pro 48MP is working with the Sony IMX586 Image Sensor.

Redmi Note 7 is the first phone that has been released by Xiaomi's new secondary brand Redmi by Xiaomi. After this, all the smart phones launched under the Redmi Sub-brand will take the 'Redmi by Xiaomi' logo to its back panel. Xiaomi now has two sub-brands - Poco and Redmi. The new Redmi sub-brand will focus on delivering feature loaded smartphones in the budget segment.

As for hardware, the dual-SIM (Nano) Redmi Note 7 runs on MIUI 9 based on Android Oreo, and is seen to sport a 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) LTPS display with 19.5: 9 aspect ratios, 450 nits brightness, 84 ntst zoom zoom, 5 and 2.5 g Gorilla glass with worm glass protection. It is powered by a SoC Octa-core Snapdragon 660 2.2 GHz with Adreno 512 graphics and options of 3 GB, 4 GB and 6 GB RAM.In internal storage, there are 32GB and 64GB options with the option to further expand using the MicroSD card slot (up to 256GB).

Redmi Note 7: The 48-megapixel camera

Redmi Note 7, 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4 support

The Redmi Note 7 packs a 4,000mAh battery which is mostly standard in all Xiaomi Redmi phones now, but with Quick Charge 4 support. Xiaomi says that he will make the phone from 0 to 100 in 1 hour and 43 minutes.
To pay attention here, Xiaomi will only provide a regular 5V / 2A charger in the box, but you can buy QC 4.0 Quick Charging blocks for only 10 RMB. This will enable the 9V / 2A load option.
