Redmi Note 7, the first smartphone from the newly independent Redmi brand, was launched earlier this year. The phone comes with a 48-megapixel Samsung GM1 camera sensor to offer stunning photography experience.
Xiaomi India Managing Director Manu Kumar Jain on Thursday tweeted his image along with Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun holding the Redmi Note 7 in his hand. The tweet also includes upside down text that specifies the arrival of the 48-megapixel camera phone.
Earlier, the company had announced that the phone will soon get the Night Scene Mode, which will further improve the phone’s low-light photography experience. Now, the Redmi Note 7 has received a new update that brings Super Night Scene Mode.
The Redmi Note 7 was unveiled in China earlier this month starting price of CNY 999 (roughly Rs. 10,500) for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage option. The USP of the new phone is indeed its 48-megapixel Samsung GM1 sensor that sits on the dual rear camera setup, along with an f/1.8 aperture and another 5-megapixel sensor. The Redmi Note 7 also comes as the first model of the 'Redmi by Xiaomi' sub-brand.
Night Scene mode was first introduced on Mi Mix 3 and later on Mi8 Pro and Mix 2s. The facility allows users to take HDR photos at night, which looks super bright even when the light gets spoiled. Night Scene mode takes many pictures into different exposures and adds them to the same image which is bright and with as little noise as possible.
At the time unveiling the Redmi Note 7, Xiaomi also teased the launch of the Redmi Note 7 Pro that is set to come with a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary sensor at the back. The smartphone is rumoured to come under the Redmi by Xiaomi sub-brand next month - sometime around the Chinese New Year.
The phone is equipped with a 3.5mm audio jack and features an infrared blaster which makes it possible to use it as a remote control. A fingerprint scanner resides of the backside of the Redmi Note 7 smartphone. It runs Android Pie-based MIUI 10 and is powered by a 4,000mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging technology.
The ultra-high pixels provides more detailed performance for Samsung GM1 products. Samsung GM1 sensor also adopts Quad Bayer pixel arrangement, which can combine four 0.8μm pixels into one by four-in-one pixel technology. A large pixel of 1.6 μm increases the amount of light entering the camera.
Redmi Note 7 is Xiaomi's first note phone, in which the Waterdrop is delivered to the Nokia Display. The device has a 6.3-inch full-HD + (1080x2340 pixels) 2.5 de-curved glass display with 19.5: 9 aspect ratios, 450 nits brightness, 84 percent NTT color gamut and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
It is powered by the 2.2GHz Snapdragon 660 Octa-Core SoC which is coupled with Adreno 512 GPU. Redmi Note 7 has 3GB, 4GB and 6GB RAM options and internal storage options as 32GB and 64GB options. Storage space can be extended to 256GB via microSD card.
